Compost
For my final in Compositing and Special effects I attempted to create self-portrait. Partially inspired by artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn and biologist Donna Haraway, I wanted to look at the the idea of compositing as the self and the self as compost. This project involved masking found footage, motion tracking, green screen lighting/keying and using video overlay techniques.
2 in 3
For this project I used an outer space theme to create an infographic for Madison College’s new 2 degrees in 3 years program. The project required me to create custom illustrations in Adobe Illustrator, write/record a script and animate everything in Adobe After Effects.
1Q84
A title sequence for a movie that doesn’t exist. 1Q84 is a novel by Japanese author Haruki Murakami. This project was a collaboration with fellow Murakami fan and artist Sarah Kdosi. Sarah provided the visuals and I provided the original music. The music was composed from samples I created from the piece “Sinfonietta” by Leoš Janáček, a pivotal song referenced in the novel.
Robinia Courtyard Video
This project was a promotional video for the restaurants in Robinia Courtyard: Jardin, Black Locust, and Madison Tap. The purpose of this video was to use an interview with the owner, Jon Reske, to highlight the unique 3 restaurants in one location concept. Filmed on DSLR and Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Demo Reel
This piece opens on a composite of 3D objects and a motion tracked animation created specifically for this piece. I’d like to focus on post-production work and motion graphic work. My demo reel is designed to reflect this tendency.
