Graphic Design & Illustration

Hello and welcome! As a soon to be graduate of the Graphic Design and Illustration Program here at MATC, I'm stoked to be launching into a career in the digital agency world. Over the years my design skills have increased immensely, and through this program I truly believe I have found my voice as an artist and designer. I've been making art since as far back as I can remember, and I would use just about anything I could get my hands on to do it. I like to say there isn't a medium in the world that I wouldn't use, and I think that reflects in my work. Even though I’m graduating, I know I won’t ever stop learning and making. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do, I can't wait to create with you!

Willy Street Treasure Shop

Willy Street Treasure Shop is an eclectic store located in Madison, Wisconsin that sells a wide variety of found items and local art, and it’s all owned and operated by one amazing lady. She didn't have a website for the business, so I built her one. This will not only make the store available to a wider audience, but also make it much easier for customers/donors to find what they’re looking for quickly and easily. I wanted my work to feel like it had an air of mystery to it, to match the vibe of the store.

Ragstock

Located in downtown Madison, Ragstock is a three-story store that sells clothes and accessories. The coolest part? Their products are a mix of vintage/thrifted items, and brand-new! This blend of styles makes Ragstock the perfect place for everyone young and old, though they try to market mostly to teens and young adults. I’ve helped them achieve this goal by combining a sleeker, more modern vibe with a classic typeface and a vintage glasses icon.

Everything Mushrooms

Everything Mushrooms is a small agricultural business located in Knoxville, Tennessee. What I made for them is essentially a beginners guide for those who are new to the world of fungi, and a small line of merchandise to go along with it. For the booklet, I drew from their already existing color palette and style elements but spiced it up by adding dark green and a new groovy typeface. For the merchandise I wanted to add more color, but I kept things consistent by using phrases and visual elements from the booklet.

How To Pet a Snake

You know what they say, snakes are a person’s best friend. Wait, is that what they say? Reptile Rapture is a reptile specialty store located in Monona, Wisconsin. For this video ad, I chose to take a pet reptile that some people find very scary and make it humorous and kind of cute. I featured my illustrative style, with a mix of photography, to help add to the playful tone.

Dial Soap

Dial is an American brand of soap originating in late 1940s Chicago. Over time, their liquid hand soap has been known to many as the go-to soap for tattoo artists and the tattooed alike, so I wanted to give the brand a fresh update to reflect this new identity. I changed their old bottle shape to reflect a tattoo ink bottle, included old school tattoo art in the background, and spiced it up by including a different texture and color for each bottle. I also redid their logo, including a tiny bar of soap in the “I” as a reference to that being the first soap product they sold.
