I grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, did my undergrad at UW-Madison, and then pursued the creative life of a touring musician based in Minneapolis for much of the 90s and aughts. I moved to Madison in 2014 when my wife got a fellowship to study at the university here. I enrolled at MATC to formalize my learning and love of visual art, design, web, and video.

Combined Charitable Campaign ›
LINK TO VIDEO: https://youtu.be/Fh0fxStE_woI made this video while interning in the Communications and Strategic Marketing Department at Madison College. I filmed from a script written by the department head, Cary Heyer, and worked under Bill Bessette, a senior member of the department, who acted as executive producer. I shot and filmed most of the footage (with some stock footage used as b-roll) and edited the piece together.
As Long as We're Alive ›
LINK TO VIDEO: https://vimeo.com/210829436I made this animation for my first Motion Graphics class. The music that narrates the story I recorded myself on a 4-track cassette machine back in the early aughts. Making this video, I had a real eureka moment of thumbnail to PNG to movement to telling a story. I hope to do a high fidelity version of this piece in the future.
Eagle Heights Community Gardens ›
LINK TO VIDEO: https://vimeo.com/210826455This piece I made for my second video production class. It is a short and somewhat quirky documentary about the Eagle Heights Community Gardens. It tells the story of the garden's history, the slowness of spring in arriving in Wisconsin, and how to catch the 80 bus out to this hallowed spot.
