Career, take two! My background is in business billing and accounting, but in the back of my mind there was always the desire to explore my creative side. Graphic Design seemed a perfect fit, so I took the plunge, enrolled and I’ve never looked back. I love that design and illustration is ever changing and there is always more to learn!
Anthology is a gift and paper shop in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. This new logo gives a nod to the company’s progressive atmosphere, highlights the ties to the Madison community it supports and reflects the bright and friendly atmosphere of the store.
Illustrating this book was a passion project. The story was written by a family member to explain to a child the importance of keeping a personal connection with his grandfather who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. The illustrations include memories of their time together. Choosing colors and images that bring the story to life while maintaining the bittersweet tone of the story was a labor of love.
I spent a relaxing day sketching plants in the tropical Bolz Conservancy at Olbrich Botanical Gardens to have a collection of botanical shapes for pattern making. With the color choices and pattern design I achieved the vintage - victorian era feel I was looking for.
Financial documents don’t need to be dry, colorless and boring. This is a brochure the customers of this accounting firm will want to pick up! “We can help put the pieces together” is the tagline which drove the design of this piece.
